For detailed explanation and examples of my jobs throughout my careers click here.

I am seeking a full-time Graphic Design/Artist position either remotely or in an office setting. I do have a number of years of experience working on Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop creating works for both personal and business applications. I have experience in graphic design software within Adobe applications. I grew up and went to school in Issaquah Washington where I learned the basics and more innovative techniques using the Adobe software suite. My favorite classes were “Digital Imaging” and “Video Foundations” at Tiger Mountain Community High School. I tutored students there my senior year for my Grad Project where I spent 30 hours of community service. I also took on an internship with the Issaquah School District spending one hundred hours developing a website with a logo and web navigation utilizing the programs Illustrator, Photoshop and Golive.

I also have other work experience outside of graphic design in a retail setting related to graphic design. I am currently working at Lowe’s in Nampa Idaho Lowe’s but have the most experience in retail for over 20 years in Issaquah Washington at the local Lowe’s and Michaels Arts and Craft positions. I and am good at multi-tasking, being meticulous and work well in a team. I created the Store Map that both gave me growth and common knowledge of the store. I created the layout in Adobe Illustrator and Product Locator on the back in Microsoft Word. I did the intel and research about the store’s layout myself on my own time. I also got great feedback and constructive criticism along the way as well as helpful critiques and advice on where the map was going. It started in a more traditional manner in black and white, soon went to color, and in my final efforts I created a 3D version which was honorably framed and posted in two spots in the store. I utilized the map in a variety of means from paper hand copies for employees and customers alike, to laminated finished pieces handed out to each department. I even got a chance to print poster sized versions of my Store Map.
In my latest version one thousand copies were printed in color and handed out to employees and customers to focus on the improvements of the store currently in remodel. I developed over six maps each with similar features and with other purposes. A long with my traditional front and back maps I developed an "Emergency Response Map" poster that was finally mounted around the store to show the evacuation of the store in case of an emergency. In every update I made of the map has other new features or changes to the layout the store. I tried my best to be authentic and make every updated version its own unique feel to it; for instance, my last version 4 updated the aisle numbers and department relocations throughout the store. I created several maps in my career at Lowe's that has help me and others learn the departments better and help direct customers and employee's where most common products and services they were looking for.
To understand more about the whole story and longevity of this amazing feat I welcome you to my on-line portfolio above. The website I mention showcases my best and ever-changing portfolio works and history in my dreams, ambition, and passion in becoming a Graphic Designer and artist to be. I have many examples of my work I have done for others and myself. My skills originate from past courses in school and self-taught drive. In some endeavors I put some unique features to the site including a “Feedback” page where I got several of my coworkers to add positive feedback to my art and website design. Not only is this a website of my portfolio but a history of my life’s work and journey to a job like yours that I am avidly seeking. I also put some other great comments that customers left from my current job at the Lowe’s of Nampa, ID. I urge you to check out my site because I am searching for a job just like what you advertise on Indeed.com and LinkedIn. My current goal is to become certified as an Adobe Certified Professional to show I am qualified to work on any prospective clients.
I always had an interest in art and computers ever since I was a kid. I spent my young adolescent years learning how to draw, work on computers and creating artwork either by hand or digitally. I am a diligent worker, quick study, and ambitious. Every day at my current job I demonstrate the skills and characteristics that are ideal in the field I am looking to get into. I have a lot of interest and passion in this field, and I have room to grow and succeed wherever I end up working. I like working on computers at work but would love the opportunity to follow my dream of being an actual designer. Thank you taking your time to consider me as an applicant, and I look forward to talking to a representative about my qualifications, interests, and job duties regarding this application.
Best Regards,

Kevin Sundquist
